LAST.

“Neil Armstrong was the first human to step on the moon.”
“That child always stands first, be it in acads, dramatics or sports.”
“This was the first movie we ever watched together!”
“Why am I always the first one initiate the conversation?”

Life has a very prejudiced take on chronology. Well, you can’t blame life for it. It’s the people who make it seem that way! Whoever accomplishes something first is given the most importance. Whatever happens first in a series of events is glorified the most. First love, the first mobile phone, the first sleepover, the first rank, the first bench, the first step; what’s first is always given the highest priority.

What's last is lost.

It’s that time in my college life now, when the most celebrated firsts don’t exist anymore. It’s our final year of engineering and everyone is talking about lasts. The last chance, the last hangout, the last Orbitce (that’s our technical symposium, which was, by the way, a whopping success this year!), the last tour, the last picture, the last year together and the last what not! But, if we keenly observe, the happiness that exudes every time we reminisce about the firsts invariably goes missing when we talk about the lasts. To me, every last occurrence signifies the feeling of completion, the mark of a new beginning and a wonderful collection of cherished incidents. The last incident gives us a final chance to change for the better, to make amends and keep our smiles intact. Whatever happens last is what’ll stay in our mind for years to come, because there can’t be a future incident that’ll overwrite the last one!

With my ECE-B family, Orbitce2k13
Let’s forgive ourselves for the mistakes we've done before, let’s forget that we might never get such moments again and let’s live by the fact that these moments couldn't have ended in a better way! It’s time we let the lasts take the lead.

“It is such an amazing last year of college!”
“I’m glad we shared the last piece of that delicious plum cake!”
“Of course I remember. That was the last time we ever fought with each other.”
“I can't believe our last IV is over! It’s still so fresh in my memory.”

This post is in fond memory of all the lasts I've had in college; my last symposium, my last IV, my last best friend, my last year of under-graduation! :) Maybe a little too early to say this, but to ECE-B UNITED! \m/

The tour that made wow an understatement, at Wayanad
And, at last, let’s not ignore something just because it happens last..
For, what is last is bound to last forever!

Cheers! :)

    1. Suriya! :) I meant to insist that "last" is not something that hurts or brings sadness with it. It is a new beginning, a way to keep happy memories. So, yes, smile! :)
