What is your most favourite day of the
week?
A childish question, yes, and I’m quite
sure that most of us will have one obvious common answer-Sunday! The weekend
means something special for everyone; it could be spending quality time with
your loved ones, pursuing a hobby, partying hard or simply lazing around on a
couch. The very thought of the weekend creates a sense of excitement and
happiness.
But this sheer bliss barely exists for a
day! Don’t we always wish we had an extra day between Sunday and Monday!? Oh,
how we dread Mondays! I’m no exception to this widely prevalent “Monday
hatred”. Though I myself am stuck with monotony on this dull Thursday evening,
I strongly believe that it’d be wonderful if we all learnt to say “Thank god
it’s Monday!” than “Oh hell! It’s Monday again!”
No, the point here is not about convincing
people that Monday is fit to be a favourite day! But, the very thought of
accepting the start of a week with happiness is a sign of sheer grit and
optimism. This just gives us an insight of how the simplest things can have a
deep implication. Life is going to throw us a million surprises- pressurizing,
challenging and dissuading us at every juncture. Our biggest ever challenge is
to keep up with its mind-numbing routine. And, a positive outlook, I believe,
is our ship’s only mast that’ll keep us afloat even during the roughest of
tides.
We always try to find an escape route when
faced with a difficulty than boldly tackle it. Our inclination towards weekends
only symbolises that idea. In our student life, we cannot escape our
ever-pending record submissions, impending exams or attendance restrictions.
Cribbing or avoiding them do not change the reality we have to face.
If we try to at least accept, if not love
our work, as much as we cherish our leisure, we’d do ourselves a lot of good! A
first step could be, to say, “Ah, it’s Monday again! Let’s give an amazing
start to this week!” What do you say?
Cheers! :)
